Why this is here

As many of you know, my son Alan went to Japan to study Japanese language this summer. He posted a blog at http://alaninjapan.blogspot.com where he told us about how busy he was. And he was busy!

I joined Alan in Tokyo when his program was over. This is my attempt to let folks know about our trip, and post pictures that I have edited so that you will think that I am a brilliant photographer.
